Painting with Paper
Painting with paper refers to using bits and pieces of paper to form an image—a collage. Unlike with my kimonos, I tend to work with representational collage imagery, drawing themes and motives sometimes from Japanese art, occasionally from photographs, and often from everyday themes that have been a part of my life.
“Collage is an art method for our time… juxtaposing originality and appropriation...”
